Introducing the new user experience for MyBank payments on pagoPA
Starting from July 1, 2020, citizens and businesses will have access to a single centralized button for MyBank payments on pagoPA.
Milan, July 2, 2020 – Starting today on pagoPA, Italy’s national platform for payments to the Public Administration, the MyBank service is directly integrated into the “direct debit” payment method, enabling easier access to bank accounts for customers of banks participating in MyBank.
With MyBank integrated within pagoPA, citizens and businesses can securely pay vehicle tax, fees, duties, healthcare tickets, utility bills, school fees, membership dues, and all other Public Administration services through an immediate bank transfer via their bank’s internet banking platform. The service is available, with no additional activation required, to all account holders at any of the more than 200 banks participating in the MyBank network.
Starting today, the new simplified access to the MyBank service on the pagoPA platform enhances system usability by providing users with an easier tool to search for their bank, benefiting all parties involved in the transaction: citizens and businesses, payment service providers, and creditor entities (Public Administration).
When ready to pay, the user clicks on MyBank, which can be found in the “addebito in conto” (direct debit) menu, and selects their bank. They will be automatically redirected to the online banking platform where, after logging in with their usual credentials, they will see a pre-filled bank transfer.
It will be sufficient to authorize the pre-filled SEPA bank transfer to receive immediate confirmation of the payment execution from both their bank and the pagoPA system or the creditor entity.
“MyBank enables citizens to make payments by accessing their online banking platform through a pre-filled, irrevocable bank transfer with immediate confirmation, leveraging an already well-established user experience. The new simplified access to MyBank directly from the menus presented by pagoPA will further facilitate the use of this tool, in line with our platform’s objective: to promote the widespread adoption of digital payments as a driver for innovation in public services,” commented Giuseppe Virgone, CEO of PagoPA SpA.
“As MyBank, we are extremely pleased to offer citizens and businesses a secure payment tool that ensures simplicity, operational immediacy, and protection of users’ identities. The new centralized button on the pagoPA platform represents a further step forward in the country’s modernization efforts. We are confident that the new simplified access to MyBank on pagoPA will provide significant benefits to all parties involved by facilitating the adoption of digital payments among citizens and businesses, thereby increasing trust in the online channel,” stated Giorgio Ferrero, CEO of PRETA, the company that owns and manages MyBank.
MyBank, present since 2015 as a payment method on the pagoPA node—the payment system for public administrations and public service providers in Italy—has experienced significant and steady growth over the years, with a 158% increase in transaction values in April 2020 compared to the previous year.
