Paris, 13 June 2023 – MyBank, the SEPA account-to-account payment solution owned and managed by PRETA, unveils plans to extend its reach to additional countries in Europe on its 10th anniversary.
PRETA is particularly eager to see the MyBank value proposition reach end-users in Spain, Portugal, and Belgium, where the solution will become available by the coming summer months.
In its first decade on the market, MyBank has seen the footprint of its e-payment solution significantly and rapidly growing in Italy, where it currently covers more than 85% of banked citizens and businesses and already is the preferred method for B2B transactions. The solution closed out a record 2022, with a total annual transaction value of more than EUR 10 billion.
By enabling users to make and receive payments through an irrevocable and pre-filled bank transfer with immediate confirmation via their online banking service, MyBank offers an alternative solution, which has already been implemented by more than 260 Payment Service Providers (PSPs).
Reflecting on 10 years of progress, Tarik Zerkti, CEO of PRETA said, “I take great pride in what we have accomplished over the last decade, and I want to thank all those who have accompanied us on the MyBank journey thus far – our participating PSPs, our longstanding users and partners. As we celebrate this important milestone, I am even more enthusiastic about the many opportunities that lie ahead of us to contribute to a more collaborative, inclusive and efficient European digital payment landscape.”
With financial inclusion and collaboration as core values at PRETA, Tarik Zerkti will be speaking at EBAday, the upcoming annual summit for the leading payments and transaction banking executives organised by the Euro Banking Association and Finextra.
PRETA’s CEO will be among the industry experts sharing their views on how commercial banks, other PSPs and central banks can improve global reach and interoperability for payments, during the session “Models for public and private sector collaboration“, being held on 21 June 2023 at 14:45 in Madrid.
“MyBank represents a payment solution that generates “circular efficiency”, while promoting a collaborative, inclusive and customer-centric approach at all levels, thus creating value for all market players. We now look forward to welcoming further users from Belgium, Spain, Portugal.” – added Giorgio Ferrero, Executive Director at PRETA.
